United Way of Southern Nevada has established a fund to ensure that families
in need of services beyond what military benefits and programs provide
are able to access health and human services programs in Southern Nevada.
Participating groups include: Family Support Center at Nellis Air Force Base;
representatives from Army Reserve and National Guard, Marine Reserves and Navy
Reserves; and the local chapter of the American Red Cross.
The Fund has helped to meet the needs of nearly 50 families and has assisted
with paying rent, providing childcare and accessing healthcare.
